Volunteer!

Explore the various volunteer opportunities at Lawrence. You are welcome to participate in as many activities as fit your interests and schedule.  We often partner with the school in community events to ensure Lawrence is represented and staff and families can actively participate and join the fun! Volunteering always provides learning opportunities for children to learn the importance of working together in teams in the community working toward a common goal.

Current Volunteer Opportunities:

Staff Appreciation
Staff Appreciation week is May 1 – 5, 2017. This year’s theme is camping. Lawrence PTA is plannng on recognizing each staff member, which is about 55 people. We are collecting donations through the end of April. Please help us gather any donations. Ideally, we would like to award 15-20 special gift baskets; any contribution to these baskets is appreciated. Donations can be dropped off in the office or given to Ms. Justine by Friday, April 28, 2017. Let’s show our Lawrence Elementary Staff just how much we appreciate all they do!

Box Tops Committee
This committee meets 1-2 times a month and collects, preps, and submits Box Tops as a committee. Once all Box Tops are counted and recorded by the secretary, the winning class for the month is identified and offered a class celebration of the teacher’s choice from items such as doughnut holes, mini muffins, cookies, popsicles, etc. Children who label their donations with their names are individually rewarded with a “Box Top Tootsie Pop” by members of the committee. Also, a Box Top collection bulletin board is maintained showing the current progress of each class’ donations. The committee will be meeting for one final time before the end of the school year in mid-May. A final meeting date is being determined. Please send an email to [email protected] and let us know if you would like to be added to the committee email when the final date is selected. The committee usually meets in the morning from 7:45 to about 9.

The following committees are organizing for the fall. If interested, please contact the school family liaison, Angie Rowlette, or any member of the executive board to sign up so we can include you with any communications on upcoming meetings. Each of these committees require preparation and commitment before the start of the new school year.
